Importance of weight check

According to Dr. Christopher Murray the director of IHME and one of the founders of Global Burden of Disease (GBD) study, stated, “Obesity is an issue affecting people of all ages and incomes everywhere”. “In the last three decades, not one Country has achieved success in reducing obesity rates, and we expect obesity to rise steadily as incomes rise low- and middle-income Countries in particular, unless urgent steps are taken to address these public health crises”

Obesity or Obese

Obesity is a public health crisis. Are overweight crises/issues affecting the health of an individual and can cause death. These are high risks: cardiovascular diseases, some types of cancer, diabetes, osteoarthritis, chronic kidney diseases, and if one body Mass Index (BMI) goes beyond 23. It can create a problem for everybody. It impacts or causes high blood pressure, sleeping disorders, some heart diseases, stroke, and hypertension. Around 60 – 70% of Americans are obese according to the Institute for Health Metric and evaluation (IHME).

According to IHME obesity took the lives of 3.4 million deaths resulted from cardiovascular diseases. Therefore, an increase in obesity can affect the rise in the future life expectancy if nothing is done. It is a major global health challenge for the past 33 years according to IHME. Also, Dr. Murray (2018) said, obesity rates had not been dealt with successfully.

Causes and effect of obesity

Obesity form general health problem. Factors which causes obesity will include some behaviors our dietary level and one inactivity to exercise regularly or train. According to the Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), it causes death globally, low quality of life, mental illness and body pains.

Obesity and impact on the health system

According to the CDC, the medical cost of obesity is two, direct and indirect price. Treatment, diagnose and preventive measures are the direct, mortality and disability cost and the lack of productivity are indirect value. Records read that, in 2008, the United States spent $147 on obesity for medical care
